Bio
Meital Waldmann is a Jazz vocalist, vocal coach, and music educator, born in Israel and based in New York. Meital performs all over Israel, and across Europe and the US.
At 28, she has already played on the biggest stages in Israel, and with some of the biggest names in the Israeli Jazz scene.
Raised in Israel to a half-Brazilian family, Meital’s inspiration ranges across a wide variety of genres and styles, from the Great American Songbook to modern-time Jazz vocalists, and from Bossa Nova to Israeli music classics, Inspired by artists such as Ella Fitzgerald and Sarah Vaughn to Cyrille Aimée and Cécile Mclorin Salvant, Gal Costa and Yehudit Ravitz.
Meital frequently performs at the top Israeli Jazz clubs (Shablul Jazz Club, Beit Haamudim, Yellow Submarine, and The Zone to name a few) with her quartet & quintet, and her exclusive Duo concerts.
One of Meital's remarkable projects is the M&N Big Band she had co-founded with the pianist Nitsan Kolko, who wrote arrangements. The big band had performed at the festive New Year's eve at Shablul Jazz Club, the New Orleans Jazz Festival in Tel Aviv, and the Queenta Jazz Festival in Jerusalem.
Just a few of the festivals and stages Meital has led performances at include: the Jerusalem Jazz Festival, the New Orleans Jazz festival in Tel Aviv, the Etel Jazz festival in Cyprus, Recanati Hall in Tel Aviv, Elma Arts Complex Luxury Hotel, Sounds in the Desert Festival in the Israeli Negev and The International Convention Center in Jerusalem.
Meital is a graduate of the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance, where she received her BFA in jazz performance and BMusEd, and of the exclusive program of the Israel
Conservatory of Music in Tel Aviv in collaboration with the New School NY.
Before moving to NYC Meital had recorded her very first Jazz album which will be out on all platforms in Winter 24'.
