Bio

Meital Waldmann is a jazz vocalist, vocal coach, and music educator, originally from Israel and now based in New York City.

Meital has made waves on some of the biggest stages in Israel and with prominent figures in the Israeli Jazz scene.

Raised in Israel within a culturally rich, half-Brazilian family, Meital's musical influences span a wide spectrum, from the timeless melodies of the Great American Songbook to the contemporary sounds of Jazz vocalists worldwide. Inspired by legends like Ella Fitzgerald and Sarah Vaughan, as well as modern artists such as Cyrille Aimée and Cécile McLorin Salvant, Meital's repertoire also reflects her love for Bossa Nova and Israeli music classics, drawing from the likes of Gal Costa and Yehudit Ravitz.

Before moving to NYC, Meital preformed at the top Israeli Jazz clubs including Shablul Jazz Club, Beit Haamudim, Yellow Submarine, and The Zone, where she mesmerized audiences with both her quartet and quintet formations, as well as in exclusive Duo concerts.

Notable among her projects is the M&N Big Band, co-founded with pianist Nitsan Kolko, which has graced celebrated venues such as Shablul Jazz Club during New Year's Eve festivities, the New Orleans Jazz Festival in Tel Aviv, and the Queenta Jazz Festival in Jerusalem.

Meital's performances have also taken her to esteemed festivals and stages worldwide, including the Jerusalem Jazz Festival, the New Orleans Jazz Festival in Tel Aviv, the Etel Jazz Festival in Cyprus, and iconic venues such as Recanati Hall in Tel Aviv, Elma Arts Complex Luxury Hotel, and The International Convention Center in Jerusalem.

A graduate of the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance with a BFA in jazz performance and BMusEd, Meital further honed her skills at the exclusive program of the Israel Conservatory of Music in Tel Aviv in collaboration with the New School NY.

Before making her move to NYC, Meital recorded her debut Jazz album, set to release on all major platforms in 2024.

With an ongoing and uprising career in the NYC jazz scene that continues to garner attention and acclaim, Meital holds a weekly residency at the prestigious Flatiron Room Nomad and made a debut NYC concert appearance on March 23' at Chelsea Table & Stage, which sold out.

She is also a familiar face at well-established venues such as Mezzrow Jazz Club, Ornithology Jazz Club, Birdland Jazz Cluc, Wallace Lounge , captivating audiences with soulful performances.
